Children's Ministry

The Children's Ministry accommodates babies and children through 5th grade.
For children in 6th grade and up please see the Youth pages.

Sunday School
Sunday school classes are offered in the Education Building for babies through 5th grade. Children join in the 9 am worship service every Sunday for the first 15 minutes or so during which they participate in the Children's Message. They then go to their classrooms, where they use a curriculum called "Live B.I.G." Throughout the curriculum, discipleship is encouraged, Bible passages are taught, and Bible stories are shared and the children are encouraged along their spiritual journey.

Sunday School (Summer Months)
From Memorial Day through Labor Day we worship together at one service at 10 am. The children join in the worship service every Sunday for the first fifteen minutes or so, then go to their classrooms.

Cherub Choir
Cherub Choir for preschoolers will take place from 9:50 - 10:10 am during the school year. The Cherub Choir Director is Jan Ellis.

Children's Choir
The children's choir for elementary age children is directed by Janet Searfoss. They meet from 10:10 - 10:50 am during the school year. The Children's Choir sings regularly in church as well as participating in special musical events and singing at the Family Christmas Eve service.

Family Sundays
On Family Sundays, babies through four-year-olds go to their usual rooms in the Education Building; children in Kindergarten and up attend worship in the sanctuary with their families for the entire service.

camp C. A. S. T.
camp C. A. S. T. is a summer program of FUMC's Children's After School Theater. It is for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. It will run from June 23 through August 2, from 8 am to 5 pm (Mon - Fri). Extended care for an hour before and an hour after will also be available. The camp will culminate with a production of the musical Honk! on August 1 & 2. Brochures are available in the church office. Download the camp C. A. S. T brochure & registration form. There is very limited enrollment. Please register early!

Vacation Bible School
FUMC offers a Vacation Bible School every summer. This year's VBS will be held on August 4 - 8, from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm (Mon - Fri). FUMC is again teaming up with Westwood UMC for this year's event entitled "Beach Party: Surfin' Through the Scriptures." VBS is open to all children entering preK through 5th grade AND there are opportunities for youth and adult to participate as well. Brochures are available in the church office.
