Rev. Patricia FarrisRev. Patricia Farris, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, has nearly thirty years experience in local church and campus ministry. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School, she has served local churches in Gardena and Los Angeles, in addition to serving as superintendent of the San Diego District prior to being appointed at FUMC in Santa Monica. Her interests are in preaching, teaching, worship and church renewal. Her writing has appeared in The Christian Century, Circuit Rider, Quarterly Review and the Upper Room Devotions, and she is known as a preacher and workshop leader throughout the denomination. Patricia is also a member of the Advisory Board of the EveryChild Foundation. She and her husband, David Bremer, Associate Professor at the Otis College of Art and Design, enjoy reading, music, movies and travel. At the heart of her ministry is a love of God's people and of God's world.

Rev. Brad BeemanRev. Brad P. Beeman joined the staff of First United Methodist Church in 2004. He brings fourteen years of pastoral experience having served in urban, suburban and rural settings. He is a graduate of the Claremont School of Theology and continues to teach and train in a variety of settings. Previous to his call to ministry, Brad served as National Director of Community Support for Seattle-based "Developmental Research and Programs," a company that led the nation in research around what places children and youth at risk as well as what families, schools, and communities can do to reduce risk. He worked on two White House Task Forces, one in "Parenting as Prevention," the other in "Drug Abuse and Drug Violence." Brad continues his work in these areas and in other areas of ministry now in Santa Monica and as a part of the FUMC staff. Brad is married to Dorothy. They have four children.
