United Methodist Women
The
organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of
women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as
whole persons through Jesus Christ;
to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts
of mission through participation in the global ministries of the
church.
The
FUMC unit of UMW meets each month with a program and lunch at the
church.
There
are a number of Circles that make up the FUMC unit, including...
Abigail
Circle - meets on the third Monday night of each month
at a member's home at 6:30 pm.
Hope
Circle - meets irregularly on the first Thursday of the month
at a member's home.
Mother's
Fellowship - meets on the fourth Monday night of each month
in the Fireside Room at 6:30 pm.
Rebecca
Circle - meets on the third Thursday morning of each month
in the Fireside Room at 10 am.
Women
of Action - do not necessarily consider themselves a circle
and do not meet regularly, but help out with various UMW events
throughout the year and are wonderful women of action!
Work
Party - meets every Wednesday morning starting at 9 am
in the UMW Work Room and make crafts throughout the year to raise
money for missions with the Spring and Holiday Boutiques.
The
FUMC UMW President is Helen
Hewitt. For more information about UMW at First United Methodist
