Volunteer Opportunities

The Health Ministry program provides health education and various health activities to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the congregation and their families. The Health Ministry Council works to accomplish this. Regular activities include monthly blood pressure screenings and an Influenza Vaccine Clinic.

By its very nature, the congregation is a healing community. The Gospel mandates that followers of Jesus go out and preach the kingdom of God and heal. (Luke 9:2) The Church needs to reclaim its mission of health and healing. With 45 million Americans uninsured, the accessibility, quality and cost of medical care become problematic. This makes preventive medicine no longer an option; it is a necessity!

We now have a book entitled "The Eldercare Handbook: Difficult Choices, Compassionate Solutions" by Stella Mora Henry, R.N., with Ann Convery which is available in the church library.
