Appeals For Support

Friends - This letter -- or one of your own -- can help do much more than rebuild a Methodist church in New Orleans, heavily damaged by the hurricanes; it can help rebuild a once vital community. Please consider spreading the word about our new partnership with the Bethany United Methodist Church by passing this information on, either by U.S. mail or electronically.

Appeal Letter

By U.S. Mail
(or by your own hand delivery)

1. Write a cover note and make a list of those you want to mail or give it to personally. Do a count and make that many copies of your note.

2. Make the same number of copies of the powerful two-page letter from FUMC member, and Gulf Coast Partnership Team Leader Jim Krause. Click on Appeal Letter to view the letter. Once the document is open in its own window you may print it or save it to your computer from which you may print it later.

3. Include printed photos of the Bethany UMC damage (more information below).

By Email

1. Click on Appeal Letter. Once the document is open in its own window, save it to your computer in a place where you can find it again. When you start composing your email to friends and family, attach the saved Appeal Letter and make sure that you explain in the body of your message that the letter is attached and that it is safe to open.

2. Attach to or embed photos in the body of your email (more information below).

Please note: Either way you choose to help, if you wish to know WHO responded to your personal appeal, you may instruct the recipients to mark the notation line of their checks with: "Via [your name]/for GCWT." The church financial office will send you a notice of the gift so you may send a personal note of thanks.

Photos

You may select photos to print and send with your letter via mail OR select photos to attach to or embed in the body of your email. Note that even more photos may be found on Bethany's homepage.

To utilize the Bethany photos on this website or on Bethany's website, all you have to do is "right click" on the photo you want, click on "Save Picture As," choose a location on your computer where you'll be able to find it again and save. Once the picture file is saved you may print it out or attach it to an email message. An even quicker and easier way for email users will be to right click on the picture and "Copy" it, then you can go directly into the email you're composing and "Paste" the image into the email. Everyone's computers are different and each computer may have different programs and software.... So, if you need help with any of this, please contact the church office for assistance.
